All Arts Market

NoDa Roxx is Back!

What a bummer that NoDa Roxx was rained out in July. >:(  But, our tireless volunteers have set up a raindate of September 14th, 2-8 p.m. (If it rains that day, then we have an alternate location at Neighborhood Theatre.)

We felt so bad for all the water-logged vendors at the last event, that we are transferring their registrations automatically.

There are also some spots left, so if anyone else wants to sign up for $10, just sign-up RIGHT HERE.

If you don’t want to vend, just come on out and have some fun! Live Music. Food Trucks. Field Events. Kid-Friendly Activities. Beer Garden. Oh my!

Art On Walls

NoDa’s been mural-happy the past year! NoDaRioty is pleased to announce the newest installation in the works. We have partnered with the Blind Pig to present a historical representation of our unique neighborhood. We love it already and send out much thanks and admiration to artist Rosalia Torres Weiner and crew!

All Arts Market Registration

We’re cutting it close, guys! The next All Arts Market is Friday, August 30th, 6-11 pm at Chop Shop!

…So we need to get some artists registered! Registration opens at 7 am on Thursday, August 15th, on our website.

All booths will be $40. Once again, we do not have a layout finalized for the new location, so booths will be assigned by NoDaRioty volunteers.

Cool new things about this location:

  • We have outdoor live music on the patio! e-s guthrie will be performing.
  • For those vendors who were unable to register inside, you are your own to find a spot, but we welcome you to set up FREE outside in the parking lot or along 35th Street headed to the Market. No registration, first-come, first-served, no guarantees … we don’t control the weather.
  • Parking is free!
  • The floor is flat!
  • There is ample lighting! So no tape on the floors, and don’t bother to bring extension cords. (If you do need an electric outlet, email nodarioty @gmail.com as soon as you register and let us know.)

And… we have a new poster design! Pass it around.

All Arts Market is Back

@ Neighborhood Theatre!

Saturday, June 15, 1-9pm.

The Theatre has been renovated, and we’re excited to see how the changes match up with All Arts Market. There is now one large bar in the center that connects the entrance area with the stage area (and it takes credit cards). And the “balconies” have been removed to open up some more floor space in the main stage room (yay!). Registration will be using the old floor map until we optimize the new layout, so just be aware that you may not get the exact spot you signed up for, though we will try to be as fair as possible if we have to move you.

Registration will be held at 7:00 am on Monday, June 3rd, ONLINE HERE.

Visual Artists:

The Evening Muse would like to introduce new life to our walls while increasing awareness of NoDa-based and regional artists. We also hope to help find great new homes for your work. :)

Joe (owner of the Evening Muse) has committed to updating the gallery space with new lighting, picture rail and a cable hanging system. We expect these changes to be implemented by the end of summer.  We will promote the installations as well as generally increasing awareness of the artists involved and their work via artist receptions, press releases, web presence, etc.

We’re specifically looking for larger-scale work that will look good on the dark walls and that will potentially sell to the patrons who comprise the eclectic demographic of the Muse. We would like to be involved in selecting specific pieces from your body of work that we feel will work well in the space.
If interested, please contact: Lea Pritchard, ettalea@gmail.com, 615.854.3426

Amy’s Closet

West Point Shoppes, Denver, NC: The mother of one of our regular All Arts Market artists started a non-profit art consignment boutique in Denver, NC called Amy’s Closet, where all proceeds go to support Amy’s House (a non-profit in Lincoln County that supports, educates and houses women & children victims of domestic violence).

They are renting booth space to artists and craftsmen on a monthly basis starting at $25 for a corner or upper wall space or $40 for a 4×5, and $60 for a 6×5 space.

The boutique keeps 20% of sales for Amy’s House, so artists should adjust pricing accordingly.

Standing Gallery – May newsletter

Standing Gallery. All Arts Market. Charlotte Underground Art Social. Is this email not displaying correctly?
View it in your browser.

Be a part of NoDa’s STANDING GALLERY

In conjunction with the Matheson Bridge unveiling party on May 19th, NoDaRioty will present the Standing Gallery.

ALL ARTISTS are welcome along North Davidson Street from 4 to 6 pm to showcase their talent. Just show up and set up, like an artist flash mob! Locations are first-come-first-served. Bring one or two pieces of your art, an easel/display, and a chair. This is a demonstration more than a market (so, please, no tables). We want to canvas the street with original art! It’s a great opportunity to see and be seen.

Location will be along N. Davidson Street starting at Matheson Bridge and heading toward 36th St. There will be areas designated for parking near the bridge. We suggest arriving a little early.

The Matheson Bridge unveiling party is a city-wide promoted event in conjunction with the May 20th Society. LOTS of people will be out for the event, so make an effort to be here! Email us with any questions.

Guest Spotlight: Call to Artists

- the Underground

The Charlotte Art Social is an event for Artists, Musicians, Comedians, and fans of every kind of art in between! We hope to establish a recurring event to promote and spotlight the great art culture that is growing in Charlotte. The idea is to bring all of the arts together under one roof to celebrate the density and diversity of talent in our city. There will be bands, possibly an open mic, stand-up comedy, etc., while meanwhile the entire space is set up as a patchwork art gallery with work from local artists. All artwork is welcome … the more the merrier! This will be a platform for artists to gain exposure, meet new artists, and even sell your work if you are interested.

It’s a great time and it’s such a diverse event that it attracts people from all walks of life. We really want to grow this event in the community, so we are calling out to any artists, craftsmen, entrepreneurs, film-makers, book-readers, food-eaters, bike-riders, and anybody else that might be interested in helping establish Charlotte as an art-friendly city, instead of the Banking and Energy capital of the South East! We are hoping to plan our next show some time this Summer at the Neighborhood Theatre, on a Friday night Gallery crawl. Feel free to contact me if you have any ideas or questions.

We are also looking for organizations or individuals that would like to help out by sponsoring the event and help us raise money to cover the operating, planning, and advertising costs. This is all about the community, but it’s also just a great excuse to hang out and party with some interesting new people!
